Thursday July 16 of 2009 enthusiastically launched the first Taste festival with The Main Event – a cuisine and wine tasting. Guests savoured cuisine from Victoria restaurants and swirled, sniffed and sipped over a 150 British Columbia wines from 50 wineries. The Crystal Garden on Douglas Street in downtown Victoria was alive with the funky vibe of Greenlaw and the hot jazz sounds of Emily Braden.

- Advance tickets purchased prior to July 1st were $75 plus 5% GST and service charge.
- After July 1st tickets were $100 plus 5% GST and service charge.

Valid identification will be checked at the door to all Taste events. Refunds will not be given to those without proper identification.
